Since its announcement, JioPhone Next has been a hot topic of discussion in the telecom sector. JioPhone Next was to launch in India last week. However, Google and Jio announce that Jio’s upcoming affordable 4G smartphone is on delay due to the ongoing global chip storage. And it will now launch around Diwali. A recent report from the Economic Times suggests that the Indian telecom giant might rework the JioPhone Next Price in India.
There is no official announcement from the company regarding the JioPhone Next Price. Several reports suggest that the smartphone may be priced at Rs 3,499. However, according to the latest Economic Times report, the Jio Phone Next price could be higher than rumored. As per the industry experts, the global chip shortage has increased the prices of components by 20 percent, forcing many smartphone makers to hike the prices of their phones. Furthermore, the report suggests that the JioPhone Next would have a very limited shelf life as the telecom giant has to start procuring components for the new SKUs for the next year. In addition, the component prices will increase in the coming 6-8 months, increasing the availability time for procurement.
The upcoming JioPhone Next may feature a 5.5-inch HD display with thick bezels at the top and bottom. Moreover, the phone will get power from Snapdragon 215 Chipset, an entry-level 4G chipset from Qualcomm. The chipset inside is coupled with 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. The device will run Android 11 (Go Edition) with some special features announced by Google during the announcement.
