Xiaomi is launching multiple devices and accessories in these two months. Now, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is gearing up to launch TWS earphones in India on the 3rd of September 2021. Moreover, it is said that they will debut alongside the Redmi 10 Prime. However, the company has not yet disclosed the name of the TWS. But, it reveals the specifications of the upcoming device on the brand’s landing page. Additionally, the brand’s Twitter post about this new TWS also gives information about its offerings.
Looking at the specs, the upcoming Redmi TWS earbuds seem to be rebranded Redmi AirDots 3. This AirDots3 debuts in China earlier this year. Moreover, the brand already offers Redmi Earbuds 2C and Redmi Earbuds S in India.
According to the event page, the upcoming Redmi TWS will be the brand’s first offering with the Qualcomm aptX adaptive chipset. In addition, the device may have dual drivers for a better listening experience. The earphones will carry Bluetooth 5.2 support for quick pairing. Furthermore, they will pack infrared sensors for smart touch controls. They will be splash-proof and sweat-proof and offer a long-lasting battery life of up to 30 hours.
As this new TWS seems to be a rebranded AirDots3, we expect it may offer some of the same features. The AirDots 3 features wear detection, a voice assistant, and smart touch control. In addition, they are powered by a QCC3040 chipset with an aptX Adaptive codec. Moreover, they have Environmental Noise Cancellation and low latency. This TWS claims to offer 30-hour playback. And the charging case houses a 600mAh battery with a Type-C USB port. It costs RMB 199 in China that is around Rs. 2282 in India. Thus, we expect the upcoming Redmi TWS to be available at the same price.
