Samsung launches a new affordable 5G smartphone Samsung Galaxy Wide 5 in its home South Korea. The latest Samsung smartphone offering has the Dimensity 700 Processor and a triple rear camera setup. Moreover, the device will compete against the likes of the Poco Me Pro 5G and the Realme 8 5G in the international market.
According to the reports, the Galaxy Wide 5 will launch in India and other markets as Samsung Galaxy F42 5G. Moreover, the support page for the Galaxy F42 5G has also gone live in India suggesting the reports to be true. However, the company has not revealed any information regarding the smartphone launch dates in India.
The Samsung Galaxy Wide 5 has the Octa-core Dimensity 700 Processor. Moreover, the affordable 5G MediaTek Processor is coupled with Mali G57 MC2 GPU and 6GB RAM. The smartphone will be available with a 128GB storage configuration with expandable up to 1TB via microSD card support. The device runs on Android 11 OS Pre-installed topped with One UI skin. Furthermore, looking at the camera specs, the phone has a triple-lens setup at the rear panel. This setup includes 64MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture with a 5MP Ultra-wide angle sensor and a 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
Upfront, the Samsung Galaxy Wide 5 features a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with 1080p FHD+ resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. In addition, the panel comes with a V-shaped notch instead of a punch-hole cutout. This notch houses an 8MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Moreover, this smartphone launches in South Korea at KRW 450,000 which is around Rs 28,270 in Indian currency. The smartphone is available in black, blue, and white color options.
