Samsung launched a 108MP ISOCELL HM3 camera sensor for smartphones last year. This new sensor was launched in a few premium smartphones and came with features likening-pixel binning, enhanced auto-focus, etc. Now, this South Korean tech giant has now launched a 200MP smartphone camera sensor. Moreover, the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 is the industry’s first 200MP sensor with 0.64 Pixels. Alongside, the company also unveils a new 50MP ISOCELL GN5 sensor. It is the first image of a sensor to come with an all-directional focusing Dual Pixel Pro technology with two photodiodes in a single 1.0um Pixel.

ISOCELL HP1 200MP Camera Sensor launched by Samsung

Samsung announces a new 200MP ISOCELL HP1 camera sensor. It is the first 200MP smartphone camera sensor with 0.64um pixels. Moreover, Samsung states that the new ISOCELL HP1 sensor can capture “an astonishing amount of detail that helps the image stay sharp even when cropped or resized.” It features Samsung’s ChameleonCell technology, a pixel-binning technology that uses a two-by-two, four-by-four, or full pixel layout depending on the environment. In addition, tipster Ankit shares information regarding the launch describing the specs of the ISOCELL HP1 200MP camera sensor.

The sensor produces 12.5MP images in low light conditions with a large 2.56um pixels by merging 16 neighboring pixels. The company states that the newly formed 2.56um pixel is capable of more light absorption and sensitivity. Thus producing brighter and clearer photos in indoors or in the evening. Moreover, Samsung’s new 200MP HP1 sensor can record 8K videos at 30fps. It merges four neighbouring pixels to bring the resolution down to 50MP or 8192*6144 to take 8K videos without the need to crop or scale down the full image resolution. In addition, this technology will have a Double Super PD autofocus with 4*4 RGB Bayer pattern colorfilter.
