Reliance Jio is now launching its new JioPhone Next. This phone is the upcoming entry-level Android smartphone by Reliance Jio in partnership with Google. The company has made this announcement in June 2021. Moreover, the company schedules to launch this phone in September 2021. However, there are specifications about this Jio phone all around leaked ahead of launch. The JioPhone Next will run Android 11 (Go Edition) and may feature a single rear camera and HD+ display. This phone was announced at the 44th Reliance Industries Annual General Meeting (AGM). In this meet, Reliance chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said that the JioPhone Next will be the most affordable smartphone not just in India, but globally.
Specifications and key features of JioPhone Next
The Editor-in-chief at XDA Developers shares a post on Twitter about the specifications of the JioPhone Next. He says in the post that ‘JioPhone Next created with Google’. The phone with the model number LS-5701-J will run on Android 11 (Go Edition). Moreover, this Jio phone will feature a 720*1440 pixels display and is powered by a Qualcomm QM215SoC. The phone has a 64-bit quad-core mobile processor with the Qualcomm Adreno 308 GPU. In addition, the phone is designed for low-end devices and comes with a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon X5 LTE modern. Furthermore, it has a Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, up to 1080p video recording, LPDDR3 RAM, and eMMC 4.5 Storage.
Talking about the camera, the report says that the JioPhone Next will offer a single 13MP camera on the back and an 8MP front camera. Moreover, the device will come pre-installed with ‘DuoGo’ that may have some low RAM optimizations. The report suggests that the phone could cost under Rs. 4000 in India. However, there are no official announcements from the company regarding the details of the phone.
