Xiaomi to take down Mi branding
Xiaomi has expanded itself in a very short time and became the World’s number one smartphone brand. This Chinese company has a diverse portfolio with three sub-brands under it. It includes Mi, Redmi, and POCO. However, POCO is an independent Sub-brand. Now, as per reports by XDA Developers Xiaomi will stop using Mi branding on its products. It clearly means that all the future products will be replaced with Xiaomi label, rather than Mi branding. Moreover, Xiaomi has first launched the Mi product ten years ago. And after 10 years, the company says goodbye to this label.
The company’s executive confirms in his statement with XDA that all of its upcoming products will get rid of the Mi branding. Moreover, Xiaomi has various devices under its Mi brand including smart TVs, TWS earphones, fitness bands, laptops, tablets. In addition, it also includes smart home devices and smartwatches. The company also offers premium and flagship smartphones under the Mi moniker.
All the products that bear the Mi branding will get rid of the moniker for future products. The company hasn’t revealed the reason behind this big change. But, it seems like the company is streamlining the branding of its products. The change in approach started with the recently launched MIX 4 smartphone. It is called MIX 4 instead of Mi MIX 4 like its previous generation. However, it’s unclear that if the company will also implement the same approach in the Indian market. For now, it’s evident that the current Mi, Redmi, and POCO brands will soon become Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO.
