Xiaomi announced the Mi MIX Fold as its first foldable phone in March this year. And it was reported in May 2021, that the company is working on a new version of Mi MIX Fold. Moreover, a Xiaomi phone with Model number 21081018SC was on the IMEI database in June. The report by Digital Chat Station of China claims that this new model is a new MIX series flagship. Since Xiaomi recently launches the Mi MIX 4, the report suggests that the model number 21081018SC phone could be the variant of the Mi MIX Fold. However, there is no information on the specifications of this new variant smartphone.
There are rumors that the next Mi MIX Fold could be an updated version of the original model. But, it does not feature a high refresh rate display. The next Mi MIX Fold is likely to have a 90Hz or 120Hz foldable display. Moreover, the company may also incorporate an under-display camera as a rival game with the Samsung Galaxy Fold 3. Additionally, there are reports suggesting that this new Xiaomi phone may feature a new Snapdragon 888 plus chip. However, it may be possible that the 21081018SC may not necessarily be a new Fold series phone from the brand. It would be hard to digest this but there is the possibility that this new Mi MIX series could be just a normal smartphone like other smartphones under these flagships.
