Google discontinues Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5A; Ahead of Pixel6 launch

Google recently launched the Pixel 5a 5G. Now, days after launching the Pixel 5a, The company discontinued the Pixel 5 and the Pixel 4a 5G. Moreover, the smartphone is listed on Google’s Online store are sold out. It is being speculated that the Pixel 5 has been discontinued to make way for the Pixel 6, which will arrive in October this year. The discontinuation of Pixel 4a makes perfect sense because the Pixel 5a is here now. But Google is yet to launch a successor to the Pixel 5. There could be chances that the brand is planning to launch the Pixel 6 ahead of launch.

Moreover, Google gives a statement that Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5 will be available till the stocks last. The statement reads ‘ with our current forecasts, we expect Google store in the US to sell out of Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 in the coming weeks following the launch of Pixel 5a 5G. These products will continue to be available through some partners while supplies the last.

However, if we observe the past trends of Google the company has discontinued the Pixel 4 and 4XL months before the launch of the Pixel 5. Interestingly, neither the Pixel 5 nor the Pixel 4a came to India. Talking about Pixel 5a, the smartphone will not launch in India. The phone will only be up for grabs in Japan and the United States.
