There has been a lot of confusion around the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition launch. Previously, it was rumoured that Samsung will launch its affordable flagship in select markets in October or November 2021. Later, the rumour mill churned out some more reports which suggested that Samsung has cancelled its plans to launch the S21 FE altogether. It was being said that the launch was cancelled due to high demand for the Galaxy Z-series foldable phones, coupled with the ongoing chip shortage concerns. Now, a new leak claims that the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE launch will happen.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE scheduled to come later this year
Tipster Ice Universe, leaks, claims that the Galaxy S21 FE launch may happen later this year. The tipster notes that the device will launch alongside the Galaxy S22 series in December 2021. If not in December, Samsung will host the launch event in January. Moreover, the tipster did not reveal the launch date of the devices. It would be quite odd for Samsung to unveil the S21 FE alongside its next-gen flagship series. However, Google has done something similar in the past with the Pixel 4a 5G launching alongside the Pixel 5 5G.
Samsung has not confirmed any details regarding the S21 FE’s launch or its cancellation. Moreover, As per the leaked information, the Galaxy S21 FE will sport a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a 1080 x 2400 resolution. The AMOLED display will support a 120Hz refresh rate and sport a hole-punch cutout as well. Under the hood, it could come with a Snapdragon 888 SoC or an Exynos 2100 SoC, depending on the region of launch. It will have a 12MP triple-camera setup on the back. The phone may pack a 4500 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.
